Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: Brown yarn for the base, pink yarn for flowers and tie
  • Crochet Hook: 4.5mm (or as per yarn recommendation)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Pattern Notes:

  • The sweater is worked in multiple parts (body, sleeves, and flowers) and then assembled.
  • Stitches used: Double crochet (dc), Single crochet (sc), Chain (ch), Slip stitch (sl st).
  • The pattern is customizable for different sizes by adjusting the foundation chain and stitch counts.
  •

Written Pattern:

Step 1: Foundation and Body

Foundation Chain: Start with a chain of 60 (or adjust for your desired width).

Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook and across. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in each st across. Repeat for a total of 10 rows or until you reach your desired length.

Step 2: Sleeves

Make two sleeves:

Foundation Chain: Chain 30 for the sleeve base.

Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook and across. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in each st across. Continue for 15 rows to achieve the sleeve length. Fasten off.

Step 3: Assembly

Attach the sleeves to the body using a tapestry needle or by slip stitching along the edges.

Step 4: Scalloped Border

Round 1: Attach yarn at the bottom edge. Ch 3, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, sl st in the next*. Repeat around to form a scalloped border. Fasten off.

Step 5: Flowers and Tie

Flower Pattern:

  • Make a magic ring. Ch 2, 10 dc into the ring. Sl st to join.
  • Ch 3, sl st in the next st. Repeat around to form petals. Fasten off.

Make 3 flowers and attach them to the overcoat using a tapestry needle.

Tie: Chain 50 and weave through the front openings of the overcoat.

Tips for Success:

  • Ensure consistent tension to maintain even stitches.
  • Customize the fit by adding or reducing rows or chains.
  • Block the finished sweater for a polished look.
